Chris Difford, well where to start?
For many no introduction is necessary as you will have grown up humming along to this wonderful tunesmiths songs.
However if you really are too young to have any idea who the hell I'm talking about, here you go...
Founder and chief word-merchant of legendary 70/80's pop-band Squeeze.
Penned many classics including 'Cool for Cats', 'Up the Junction' and 'Take me I'm Your's'.
Clocked up 13 albums, many UK top 20's, 32 American tours and 30 UK tours. Winner of 2 Ivor Novello's,
and in his young cool camp of fans sits Lilly Allen, Mark Ronson and The Feeling.
So given all this we are very pleased to announce that he will be playing an acoustic set,
in which we can expect many of the old Squeeze classics, at The Macbeth on Monday 23rd November 2009.
Main support we have the fabulous Jay and the Boys - their sound described as 'new vintage' and undoubtedly one of the hottest unsigned bands around.
Having started out their career topping the Indie Charts for 5 weeks with a 3 track demo release, to recently supporting Pixie Lott, you could say they're on a sharp incline. Expect to hear a lot more from them in 2010.
Opening proceedings the multi-talented Little Emperor. A unique artist, singer/songwriter and producer,
whose live performance of melodic, folk blues is not to be missed. Expect a tapestry of harmonies, rhythms and loop pedals.
Playing vinyl will be Acid Jazz founder Eddie Piller and Sergeant Sid.
